Is the action affected by hindering?

I can't really see how it could be since the action doesn't use Movement points (the scenario simply says 'move 2 gems to the fatigue zone').

But thematically that seems wrong: how could climbing a balcony be an easier method of escape than walking / running?

Then again, if it is affected by hindering it's not really very worth doing.

We played it like this...

1 gem to move to the adjacent zone
1 gem for each enemy that would hinder you
2 gems for the actual climbing action

In many cases, it wouldn't be worth it, but I can imagine cases where the ground floor is getting crowded and you would want to just climb out of there to the safety of the second floor.

I'd be interested to hear if we did it wrong!

Mark's interpretation sounds correct. While the climb itself takes 2 gems, you still need to spend moves to go to the next space.

I agree. I can see this being used as a shortcut if there are baddies on or near the stairs that you don't want to go through, or can't go through if they have blocking.

Correct. This has been made clear also in the specific scenario page (french version) on the official website. Same as jumping over the bar.

So it's just 2 extra gems on top of the normal movement cost plus any extra movement cost for hindering?
