That's a Palm Pilot on the left, and a pink iPod mini on the right. Yes, I've been doing BGTG that long!

My latest podcast about small wargames (and military history travel) is posted. This time the subject is the Gallic Wars and Battle of Alesia.

https://www.boardgamegeek.com/blogpost/59947/wargames-go-9-a...

For the month of December I'll be diving into the Battle of the Bulge. Did you know there are small games about that, too? (It's a trick question--there are small wargames about almost every famous battle. If you know where to look.)

I think Lou Coatney managed to design the smallest one that's still a decent game

It's on the list. Not the smallest there, though.

I used to go to Homer, IL and help Dean and The Gamers collate games when they were ready to be released. At the collate parties we used to laugh about Dean designing a game called "Three Hex Bulge". It was always a giggle during the monotony of collating. :D

The one I know from way back was One-Page Bulge. I think I skipped it for World War I, though - sucker for grand strategy, even in small games.

Be sure to call your doctor if you have a One-Minute Bulge that lasts for more than four hours.

You might want to mention this small wargame that was "inspired by" One Page Bulge:

Bravo on the episode, Mark. Excellent as always. But I have to admit, I'm really looking forward to your BotB episode.

Those of you more interested in the Bulge, take a look at my geeklist which also serves as notes for my upcoming episode. At the bottom I'm looking for recommendations about which audiobook to listen to.
