Can someone tell me the size of the jungle tiles?

We might get this for Christmas and I won't want to open the box in advance.
But, I'm thinking of doing a DIY volcano expansion and need to know what size to make the volcanoes.

Also any ideas for the DIY volcano expansion?
Tokens seems better than homemade tiles. My first thought is that any 4 tokens would do the job to mark the location of volcanoes so long as they are the right size. But it would be nice if they were volcano-shaped or at least mountain-shaped. I'm willing to buy tokens from a game supply store. I don't have to make them myself.

I had my brother-in-law 3D print me volcanoes in place of making tiles. They just got finished, so now I'm in search of the rules/instructions on how to use them.

Sorry. Forgot to mention the tile size. The game tiles are about an inch and a quarter square, so I made the volcanoes an inch across.
