As euro style co-op american miniature game what's the best choice?

They are two great games, mech vs minions have a very awesome production value for a cheaper price; Perdition have a gameplay that really force cooperation and support 6 players.

What's your choice?

Although I have not played MvsM yet I think PM is a fantastic choice. Brutal, very cooperative, tense and innovative for its Genre. The theme is much more interesting for me as well.

Why are there so many threads trying to get people to choose between apples and oranges?

That is because money is limited and everybody wants to milk the best value out of every penny. I can understand that.

This must be one of the oddest comparisons I have seen yet.

PM is a gritty, dark themed, rules heavy dungeon crawler that stands out for its rondel Action selection system.

MvM is a light hearted, streamlined, light cooperative programming game.

The question is, what kind of game are you looking for?

EDIT: I preodered both but they are 2 different beasts.

MvM is on par with games like pandemic, takenoko etc while PM competes with Descent, Fireteam Zero, etc

MvM will probably be easily available at any point during the next few years. PM:AR is available *now* and it is not clear if and when it will be reprinted.

So, PM:AR should be the game of choice.

And to be clear: PM does not compare with Descent. PM is a far superior and hardcoreish game. But it! whistle

IMO Descent is great but very different game. Both PM and D2E will have their fans and not necessarily the same people.

Have your competent overlord to play PM:AR and you'll notice that it does have similar effect - PM:AR does benefit from competence of players, too.
