I'm getting a table for the gaming basement and saw a cheap one on craigslist that looked pretty good. It is 42x42. 42x66 with the leaf. I think the biggest games I've got are EastFront II and Napoleon's Triumph - both at 34x44. Of course, it's nice to spread out a bunch of player aids as well.

What games wouldn't fit on the full 42x66 table?

The Ralphia scenario from The Great Battles of Alexander: Macedonian Art of War is two 22x34 mapsheets side by side, so that would be just barely too big for the table.

If EastFront II and Napoleon's Triumph both will fit, who really cares? You aren't doing any better than those...

Jutland by Avalon Hill.
Also I doubt La Bataille de la Moscowa would fit, especially with all the order of battle cards.

Gaines Mill + Seven Pines + Malvern Hill (combined Seven Days campaign from CWBS). You will be able to play each of the three games separately.

DAK2 (5 maps x 22 x 34 = 110 x 34 or 88 x 34 using the abstract for Egypt).

And the campaign game in one of my favourites: 1914: Twilight in the East (essentially 3 maps x 22 x 34 - which would fit - but with extra bits at each extremity which makes it wider than 42 inches).

You will be able to play either the Enemy at the Gates (Stalingrad campaign) or Case Blue (Caucases campaign) from Case Blue, but not both at once.

That seems to be the answer. If I end up ever playing some of the monsters that have been mentioned, it'll be after I play the campaign games of all my smaller games. Which will never happen.

Guess I was just nervous about reliving my plexu experience of buying a nice big sheet that accommodated all my games - then getting Eastfront. But I suppose there is always a bigger game out there...

You are lucky. In my little apartment, I only have enough room for a one map game. Depending on the map configuration, you might have enough room for a three-map game on that table. Therefore, I would rule out anything with four maps or more. That would include many of the Decision Games/SPI monsters, although Operation Typhoon and/or Terrible Swift Sword could fit, I believe.

Ogre Designer's Edition is quite large when you spread out everything that comes with the game. It took a panoramic photo to capture it all on one table! Truly epic in scale.

EDIT: In truth, you can't even SEE the table(s) in this photo, now that I look closer.

I really want to buy the World in Flames PC game from Matrix, along with a copy of the 9'x20' world map seen here... both are on sale until January 8th and can be had for $50 each. Unfortunately, the game has no AI component right now, and it's very doubtful I would ever see the map in all it's glory, simply because my house is way too small for that.

This is still an awesome picture, thanks for sharing!

Case Blue is always the answer, friend. Do you have time today to talk about our lord and savior, Dean Essig?

Yet, I'm not sure CB is the answer here. I'm playing a four mapper from CB on it, solitaire, for months probably. So, while I won't have the space (or infinite time) to play all of GBII-CB combined in its full madness-inducing divine glory, you can play CB in segments.

Point being: Look at the scenarios and measure. You can make it work. One-fourth of CB is better than none at all.

My dining room table is a little larger than that, and the only game I have that won't fit on it is The Longest Day. That extra northern Cherbourg map makes it impossible.

I've been able to at least play some of the scenarios, which are single map games which will fit on a small table. I just can't fit the full campaign game on a single table.

Technically, this map still doesn't fit the table(s) as on the right edge you can see how the map goes over the edge of the table. Of course this is disappointing as the photo clearly shows Pepsi as a sponsor and should not have allowed this to have happened. A question that I have, is that a croupier stick on the lower right corner of the table? Plus, it must have been a magnificent game too.
