Meet the man behind the white supremacist website that inspired Dylann Roof: Kyle Rogers, a 38-year-old computer engineer from Ohio who once said he thought American slavery was like winning the lottery for black people.

Rogers, who’s been named a “rising star” of right wing extremists, is an influential member in the Council of Conservative Citizens, the white nationalist group that Roof credited with inspiring his hateful radicalization.

“The first website I came to was the Council of Conservative Citizens,” Roof wrote in a 2,500-word online manifesto, acknowledging he was fixated on the organization’s obsession with “black on white” crimes from around the country.

Played his confession in court -- he laughed after admitting he shot those people.

It's these rare instances where I fully and totally support the death penalty.
