The rules say that you cannot move through a wall and you cannot eliminate a guard through a wall.

For discovering a room the rules only say that the room must be adjacent to your location. So maybe there is a window in the wall ?!

Or is a room behind a wall not considered to be adjacent?

I would assume that you can't discover a room through a wall.

Maybe x-ray goggles will be in an expansion.

In terms of logic you might be right, but the rules do not restrict discovery by walls. They just restrict the movement.

Anyway you will eventually run into the situation where you discover the adjacent room and a wall will "pop up" right in front of you (because it's prindet on the tile you just revealed). So you have discovered a room through a wall (although you didn't know there was a wall when you performed the action). What do you do? Flip the tile back on the undiscovered side?

If you want the logical approach you might houserule that there is no discovery through walls, but according to the original rules, you are indeed allowed to do this. I think a built-in window may be the explanation. ;-)
