I would like everyones opinion on the turn order rules in Torres, and which works better.

In the basic rules, it states that at the end of the phase, the person in last place has the option of moving the king, then starts the next phase, play moving clockwise.

In the master rules, it states that at the end of the round (not phase), the person in first place moves first, play moving clockwise.

Firstly, does everyone agree with my assessment above? If so, which rules are better/do people prefer and play with? Is playing first in a round an advantage or disadvantage?

Thanks for your feedback!
Alex

Usually a disadvantage (or, to say it better, it's going last that it is an advantage, since you do not have to "defend" in the last round before a scoring).
We prefer the Master rules (not only about turn order) and always go for them.
Have fun! meeple

Thanks for your response!

Does anyone else care to share their opinions on turn order, as this question has been posed several times, yet seems very important? Please!

Player in last place moves King. Player in first place moves first.

There should be a Word Games Subdomain, or at least a Word Games Forum!

There's a bit of a trade off, as the player who moves the king and then immediately takes his turn can set it up so that he easily earns the king bonus right away, and can often make it especially difficult for the other players to do so. Then he can spend the rest of his turns in that phase building up his castles and moving up his knights.
