1. Marsyas - forces your God to walk across the board towards him. If your God/titan has no Climb or area attack, he/she may stand there forever trying to catch Marsyas who is whistling away on his boulder.

2. Sirens - forces any unit to move toward them, at max range 2. Can switch targets and as Troops are recallable as well. Makes grouping up a nice number of synergetic units impossible.

3. Atlas. Doesn't only weaken all non-flyer troops during your turn (including his own, fortunately) buy also gives a -1 movement penalty. Suddenly makes your choice of units very limited, especially if you have no expansions with fast and flying units.

4. Orpheus. With his passive and area attack skill - makes you discard hands full of AoW cards and Activation cards. Can stop your whole army in its tracks for many turns - when it is unfortunately positioned and you didn't care to pick too many units that bring AoW cards.

5. Minos - redirects your attacks to another viable target. Especially annoying if the redirection is towards Eurytheus (who picks a friendly target and is invulnerable as long as the target is alive).

Only 7 points (8 if you include Eurytheus) - so you can easily have them ALL in your army!

Having already played the PnP, I can say hand size and movement are huge.

Best units:

1) Persephone: Not only you get card advantage the more units fight, you limit the opponent's options (activations and movement). Possibly one of the few true Athena counters. Totally useless in combat, but who needs combat anyways.
2) Apollo: A strong counterpick against combat-oriented units like Ares, Typhon. Essentially you make picking Omphalos the win condition.
3) Athena: Back to back Athena activations can be devastating. It is a strong, constant tempo engine.
4) Ares: Was nerfed, so maybe Medusa. Place Medusa atop a rock and she is deadly.
5) Any troop with guard: It is really strong to taunt, and also to just pay 1 AoW to resurrect them at your God's position (the one you usually want to defend). You can also use their activations to fetch Omphalos for you or to chase your god.


Worst Units:
1) Zeus: I predicted he would be crap, and he is really crap. You will have options until singularity, the moment in time when you decide to activate lightning. From that point onward, your options are nil as you have no hand, you won't be able to mulligan since you already wasted your hand and all for just pulling a unit and killing it with the rest of your army (not happening against a combat oriented god). A one trick pony not worth its high cost ability and antisynergistic powers. If you decided to hoard cards in hand, you wouldn't be activating as many units, falling behind in tempo, which would be another problem. You could say you pick your devil, be it fall behind card advantage or fall behind tempo, both not good.

2) Enceladus: Suffers the same problem: an overcosted ability, just that he actually has a useful second power.

3-5) No one. Really. All other units are useful.



As a side note, does Leader and Odysseus' Subterfuge allow for extra activations or are they within the 2-3 activation limit? If so, they seem really weak, especially if you have an Athena already providing free activations.

I'm not sure that Zeus is the worst unit in the game.

You have to pick the right units with him to trully shine.
"Leader" could be strong with "Patriarch" and the God stats are very strong.
