Brilliant News!! And well deserved!

Definitely a game that rewards a few plays - there are some great strategies and decisions to be made, that make it a rewarding game all round.

Nice one Dean!

Yes, congratulations.
It was good to have met you on the Saturday & thanks for your explanation of the game to me.
I purchased a copy & you kindly signed inside the box lid for me!
Haven't had a chance to play yet but am very much looking forward to it.
Again, congratulations!

That seems a bit blunt and negative. Talk about rain on somebody's parade!

I haven't played the game and you may well be correct, but I think you could have expressed your thoughts a bit more sensitively and give reasons for your views.

Congrats, Dean. And I agree with Mike...this is a game that gets better once you've played it a couple of times.

Just out of curiosity, is there a list of what other games were nominated/eligible for said prize? The 'pedigree' of the award is a little hard to gauge without any indication of what games it was considered superior-to.

Congratulations!

I just had the role of Fagin in a west Michigan community play.

In this life one thing counts,
In the bank large amounts!
I'm afraid these don't grow on trees.
You've got to pick a pocket or two!

Robin Hood: what a crook,
Gave away all he took.
Charity's fine, subscribe to mine.
You've got to pick a pocket or two! (and play Fagin's Gang)

I was helping Jackson Pope on the Reiver Games Stand to promote 'It's Alive!' and he was told that he'd only just missed out on the win.

Congratulations to the guys from Ludorum, it must be a cracker of a game!

Thanks Dave.

It's Alive! looks to be a cracker of a game too. And I loved the men in white lab coats demonstrating it! Good job.

Good luck with that.

The shortlist was apparently:

Brass: Lancashire
Canal Mania
Fagin's Gang
It's Alive!
Phoenicia
Scandaroon

I think that's all of them.

Cheers,

Jack

P.S. Thanks Dean, good luck with your game too.

Edited to add Scandaroon which I missed out.

Congratulations, Dean (and the rest of the 'gang'). I, too, am among the minions who have portrayed the role of Fagin; twice, in fact. Not to mention the Artful Dodger and Mr. Sowerberry.

What happens when you're 70?
Must come a time. . 70,
when you're old and it's cold and who cares if you live or die?
The one consolation's the money you may have put by. . .

Consider yourself. . part of the family

Consider me, as indicated by my review of it in Knucklebones, one of the many who enjoy this game.

For those of you planning to attend this year's WBC in Lancaster, PA (Jul. 31 - Aug. 5), look for me if you'd like to give this game a whirl. I'll have it with me and would be happy to teach it.
