Hi, I am hoping someone can help me. I have a huge collection (about 162) boardgames I want to sell all as one lot. I know I can put them on EBay, and probably will. But...

Can I advertise anywhere on BGG about the EBay auction???

I don't want to cheat BGG out of a commission and I realize that I could list it under "L" for 'lot', but I am afraid that it will get lost with the other zillion games for sale. Plus BGGs commission is less than EBay.

If I do list it on BGG marketplace can I make posts to topics such as 'Hot Deals' to garner interest??? Or is there a more appropriate topic to post to???

I really want to get rid of this collection, fast and way under normal value.

Average (total selling) price of lot $2400.
Low total value $1800.
Willing to part with all for $1000.
Lot is worth more than $2400 since I only used average selling prices. All games with the exception of 4 or 5 are in excellent condition. All parts accounted for. Plus I can ship 160 games for the same price as it would cost to ship 20 or so games individually.

Thanks for any help and advice!

Well, you could make a forum post that lists all 160 games so people could see what makes up the lot. If anyone sees it and is interested in it, you should get offers. If you sell them that way, give BGG their fair share. If they don't sell in a reasonable amount of time, then create an ebay auction.

You can't post it under hot deals unless it really is a hot deal. If it is really a good price, I don't think anyone would have a problem with it.

So, with that, please list the games in the lot since I live an hour from you and would save big on shipping

Depending on what they are I would go in with friends to buy the lot.

If you do sell them on eBay, and post the direct links to the ebay auctions here on BGG in Hot Deals, the forum system should automatically append our information so that BGG gets a comission from eBay. I wouldn't see a problem with doing something like that if you are offering a large lot of games. Normally, you'd list these eBay auctions on the page for each game, bur for large lots, that is impractical.

IF you decide to try to sell them on BGG, you could probably post in the forums in hot deals, I guess, then run the sales through the marketplace so that BGG gets its comissions. It's not something we encourage, but for large lots, it is sometimes the only practical solution.

Hello, Saylavee (or should I say "Bonejaw")

As a collector and board game enthusiast, I too may be interested in purchsing your entire collection, depending on the titles, of course.

If you intend to post a list of your games, fine. Otherwise, let em know whether you are willing to send a fax with all the title, and I will reply with my fax number

To all those who may also be interested in this puchase, I am willing to share the acquisition cost, as it is likely I will already have many of the titles in the collection.

Regards,

Vincent

fwiw, you have more responses in the other forum you posted to, ie. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/169192

If you do decide to sell here on BGG and not on ebay I'd suggest a creating a geeklist to list them all.

Out of curiosity, why are you selling your collection? You may regret it later....

I will not regret it. The games were acquired while in a relationship amost 3 years ago. Since I was not repaid very large amounts of money owed to me and my father, the games remain mine.

I have no desire for any of the games except Fluxx...I am keeping Fluxx!

Shipping on the eastern seaboard is about 150- 200. As far a California is about 300. I had an offer for 1500 in to some one in Japan and also someone in Austrailia. Shipping to Japan and/or Aussie was 500-600 in case anyone overseas is interested.

Local pick up FREE!

Thanks again for all the helpful people on BGG!

Well there is some reason for caution... you are a relatively new user (registered late last year), no real name given ("Me" ), no BGG supporter badge, your only activity on BGG was today with your 2 forum threads on this same topic, and associated replies, and you are offering this "awesome" deal.

Could definitely be legit, but it doesn't mean caution isn't warrented, and I wouldn't be sending off a bank check or other means of payment that can't be tracked or voided

edit: local pickup, aka an in person sale, leaving with games in hand, and no shipping charges, definitely makes it sweet deal for Orlando area gamers

edit#2: given the list of games, I'd have to say you are probably legit... as I think someone illegit would have had a more tempting list of games

Do note that while you believe you have the right to sell these and keep the money, if ownership is in dispute, there could be legal implications

You are correct about caution. My name is Joanne. I have an EBay account ID: blueflowertattoo with over 600 feedback ALL positive!
If that is not good enough I have a good standing Paypal account since the late 1990's, with verified sales, adress and credit card.

I'd be more than happy to do the sale through ebay for security reasons to protect buyer and seller and still give BGG their 3% on top of it.

Also the sale if shipped will be insured and signature verified. If paid with a CC or paypal the purchase will be doubly covered.

If you check out my ebay items for sale you can see I am trying to get back the space in my house that I desperately need. I have a small house and these games are taking up half of my back bedroom.

I'm completely legit. Please ask anything you like to make you feel better about a sale if you are interested.

There are no legal implications as they were bought with MY money. When the relationship ended 3 years ago I was owed alot of money for other reasons. I was willing to be extra nice and GIVE the games as a bonus for repayment of other loans owed. Besides even if they were in dispute they are way out of time limits.
