O when the 1 trump the 8 does the 1 still have value

O the 1 adds 1 extra point and the 8 adds 2. Does the doubling of scores take place after the extra points are added or before.?

O is there any reason to not make a main straight line of different colors with branching paths for different trees 100% of the time. Why would i intertwine? Below is example how most games end

====2===4=3=1
1=2=3=4=5=6=7=8
==1=4===8=7=8

O the rules and new rules are confusing,whicch of the playeer start with no discard pile?

What Karan R said.

But to clarify the final point.

The rules as originally printed said every one gets a discard pile.

That was changed to everyone but the first player gets a discard.

Then it was changed to no one gets a discard card at the start.

This is an official change which I imagine will appear in the new printing.

Imagine the last 3 columns intertwined, best case scenario would be
Color 1:4578
Color 2:34567
Color 3:1345678
