Basic 9-Player Ruleset

Good Roles:

Seer - Each night receives a vision of a target player as 'wolf' or 'not wolf.' The seer receives a vision on Night 0 of one randomly chosen player that is 'not wolf.' Thereafter, the seer chooses which player to view.

Priest - Passive Priest. If the priest is alive lynch and night kills roles will be revealed. If priest is dead, nothing will be revealed.

Hunter - If only two players remain in the game and the hunter is one of those players, then the good team wins even if the other player is a werewolf.

3 Villagers - Ordinary villagers with no special powers.

Evil Roles:

2 Werewolves - The werewolves know each other's identity, and may private message/chat without restriction. Each night the wolves choose one target player to kill. There is no kill on Night 0.

Sorcerer - Each night receives a vision of a target player as 'seer' or 'not seer.' The sorcerer receives a vision on Night 0 of one randomly chosen player that is 'not seer.' Thereafter, the sorcerer chooses which player to view. The sorcerer wins if the wolves win, but does not count as a werewolf for parity purposes (see below).

Victory Conditions:

Good - All good players win if all werewolves are eliminated, or if the last two players remaining are the hunter and one werewolf. The sorcerer does not have to be eliminated in order for Good to win.

Evil - All evil players win if the wolves achieve parity: if at any time the number of wolves remaining equals the number of non-wolves remaining (including the sorcerer), evil wins. Howver, if one wolf is left with the hunter, then good wins. The sorcerer counts as a 'non-wolf' for these purposes.

Lynch Rules:

Each day players vote for one player to be lynched. The player receiving the most votes is killed. If there is a tie between two or more players, the tied player with the longest held last vote is killed.

Lynch time is 1:00pm BGG time. Votes cast with this time-stamp are counted. Votes cast after this time are invalid. Votes made during the night phase are invalid.

All votes must conform to the Cassandra Vote Tally System rules. (Will be
posted once the game starts). If all living players vote night fall it will
speed up the dusk.

The Player's Role will be revealed upon death if the priest is still alive. (The priest death will be revealed as such.)

Night Orders:

Wolves, Seer, and Sorcerer must all submit their night orders by 3:00pm BGG time. They do this by using the Cassandra Game Order system in the Cassandra Chat System.

The wolves' night kill choice is revealed with the DAWN post. The players' role and team are not revealed.

If all living players (including those with out night actions) click on the
'Lock Game Actions' button it will speed up Dawn.

Do not post the content of your Mod Chat room to the game thread. You may summarize, but direct copying is not allowed. Consider that like showing your card to the group in a face-to-face game

Please limit posts made after you have been killed, since there is no
moderator on duty to police such things, it would be better to refrain

Notice:
The Automod system is in Beta Testing. There may be unexpected or strange errors or results or things may change from game to game, so make sure you always read the rules. Please direct any concerns, questions, or improvment suggestions to Melsana or Jmilum.

Important Information:
Tiebreaker: longest held last vote
Lynch time: 1:00pm
Night Action Deadline: 3:00pm
Weekend Policy: This game will not run over the weekend.

This game will start when full.

This game is primarly being used to test the code change to allow for a Passive Priest type. So I will be closely monitoring this game.

Sounds like making the normal 9 player priest passive would just help good.

Oh well, I'm signing up to help test this.

I have just made a change to the role reveal section of the Auto-mod code, so if you notice anything acting funky. Please let me know ASAP.

The Cassandra Automatic Vote Tally System

Your Moderator has enabled the Cassandra Automatic Vote Tally system
for this game. In order for it to function correctly, your votes will
need to be formatted correctly. The following rules will explain what
you will need to do:

Players
1. All votes must be bolded

2. The entire vote statement must be bolded and enclosed in bracekts: [vote jmilum]

3. Only one unvote and/or vote per post. You may have both an unvote
and a vote in the same post, but the unvote must come before the vote

4. You may [unvote all] instead of naming the current player
you are voting

5. If you [vote nightfall] your vote will be locked (voting
nightfall is allowed in the same post as a vote for a player, but it
must come after it, this does not violate Rule #3)

6. Vote tallies will be automatically posted to the game thread hourly
if the tally has changed. The Tally and Vote Logs (for each game day)
are also available on the Cassandra game page.

7. If your vote is not counted be sure to check the Vote Log page and
see if it was marked invalid and why.

8. Case does not matter and simple typos will not cause the vote to fail.

9. You may [vote no lynch] if your game allows it.

10. Quotes below the vote/unvote statement may cause the vote to be missed,
especially if they contain bolded sections.

11. Non voting players will be listed in the tallies. This will only be
correct if the Moderator notes which players have been killed (see below)

Moderators
1. The moderator will need to post [Dawn] when the day begins
(after the night results are posted) and [Dusk] when the lynch
deadline has passed and the day is over. Votes will not be counted
after [Dusk] has been posted. They will be registered again
after [Dawn] is next posted.

2. You may include a day number in the dawn and dusk post for
informational purposes, but it will not be used by the system.
Cassandra will increment an internal counter each time it sees
[Dawn] no matter what day is shown in a dawn post (i.e.
[Dawn 3] the three is allowed but ignored)

3. After dusk has been posted, the Moderator may go to the game page
on Cassandra to request a Final Tally to be posted before the normal
scan period has elapsed (i.e. Game Y gets scanned at 45 min. after the
hour, if it lynches at 7pm the moderator may request a tally to be
posted from the game page before 7:45pm. it will also be posted
regardless of whether or not it has been changed since the last
posting) - Do this by clicking on the 'Retrieve Final Lynch Time Vote' link.

4. You will need to note which players were killed via the lynch or at night by
either posting [killed jmilum] in the thread, or by going to the game
page and editing the player list. When posting in the thread, be sure to post
[dusk] before posting the lynch kill, and post [dawn] before
posting the night kill.
Example:
A. lynch time has passed so post [dusk]
B. goto the game page and select a final tally to be posted
C. check the final tally and post [killed melsana]
D. after the night deadline has passed post [dawn]
E. post the night kill with [killed kima]

Your Moderator has chosen to use the Longest Held Last Vote method for a tiebreaker - This is just for Cassandra system, and there may be a different tiebreaker specified by your Moderator in the ruleset.

With a passive priest, we should all:

"If I am the seer, 7ofAnn is not a wolf"

Note that although this will possibly give the wolves more information concerning who to kill, the wolves will either have to kill someone who is guaranteed to not be the seer tonight or give us an additional cleared player (the view target of whoever dies in the night).

When the seer and sorc reveal tomorrow we may be able to sort through this information for additional knowledge to base the day 2 lynch on.

Checking in....

As this is partly a test game, should the Priest just reveal now?

We don't want to kill them before their code is tested.

But as seer, I didn't view 7ofAnn, Avin, I viewed PBWedz as not a wolf.

Unless I am not the seer, in which case, I didn't. ninja

Well a priest ought to die at some point before the game ends, to make sure that the code for no longer revealing after the death of the priest gets tested.

But I'm not sure I'm willing to lynch our priest on purpose to test that of course

Even if the priest is the first one killed it will still be enough to test the code. Today's lynch should reveal the role even if it is the priest, but then all deaths after that should not be revealed.

The only thing we need to make sure is that the priest does die before the end of the game.

Howdy.

If I'm the seer, LuckayLuck isn't wolf.

Nah, if the priest lives, just do another test game. No need to compromise this one.
