Good day!

From time to time we receive feedback that the scoring in Ice Cool is too random. Although we think it fits well in casual family play, we agree that the tournaments need a less random scoring system, so skill matters more. We have already tested it in tournaments and the system works very well, so here it is.

* You don't use the point cards (though you can still use them for score keeping).

* Each achievement is worth exactly 1 point, meaning, each door a runner goes through is 1 point, and each ID at the end of the round is 1 point.

* You can either track the score immediately (by giving a card and disregarding its value (1 card = 1 point)) or note the points at the end of the round (again, you can either deal the cards or just give cards of the appropriate value).

* Of course this means that the option to use two 1s for an extra turn doesn't exist anymore.

Those are pretty much all of the changes. Of course, this scoring system theoretically is more prone to tied games, however in our experience that in that the case so often. In tournaments that is completely fine as the players play several rounds adding their scores together, however, if you play only one game, you might want to break the ties. Some trick shot contest could be an appropriate solution.

If you feel that the regular scoring is too random for you, please try out this option and see if it fits you better!

This is most welcome and works well.

As for a tiebreaker, we haven't had to have one yet, but our plan is to have each tied player start on the red dot and make a full solo lap around the perimeter, passing through all 4 doorways. Fewest flicks wins.
