There is no monster in-fighting in this game, as far as I can tell. Time to start thinking about a variant where the overlord can make a monster kill another monster for some sort of additional benefit. Maybe a big argent bonus? Additional attacks from the surviving monsters?

During development there was a variant that was meant to simulate this where the Invader could spawn more demons in a room than normal but those demons start off with some damage to represent having fought one another. It was cut for time but there's meat on those bones.

Just a random thought that popped into my head and certainly hasn't had any (even hypothetical) testing...but perhaps you could do something along the lines of:

Quote:
The Invader player may choose to target another demon figure with one of their attacks. Resolve combat as normal. If the attack results in any damage to the defending figure, the Invader player immediately gains 1 Argent Energy.


Might be worth testing.

That sounds like a long-form way of something that could be streamlined, like "roll a red, one of the demons takes that much damage, and the invader gain 1 Argent energy if any damage was done". I haven't played enough of the new game to know what that's supposed to represent, but anything that helps out the invader player works for me.
