I took this picture of a game the locals called "Ludi". It appears to be a variant of Pachisi. It may not be clear in this picture, but they rolled a 6-sided die, and then moved their counters (which were Jamaican coins). The four corners of the board were named after local landmarks, and features Jamaican colors. Is this Ludo/Pachisi?

I don't know anything about the game, but a quick Google returned an interesting image of a similar game, which is described as "Jamaican Sorry":

Yup, It's Pachisi with a different name. Played more often than I would have liked while there. The board and parts are all simple and easily available for 3rd world locations, which makes it an easy game to reproduce. I didn't even see any card games while living there for a year, just Luti and Dominoes.
