Do you guys think there is interest for a Three Kingdoms miniatures game?

it'd be unpainted plastic miniatures (at least at first)...I'm going to china in a few weeks and was thinking about talking to a few manufacturers

the game system would be action point allocation- players alternate between activating formations of troops (or in the case of hero characters, the character and their cadre)- each unit generates a set number of Action Points (gonna call it Chi in order to keep with the chinese theme of the game), these points can be used to move and attack with on your activation- but if you use all your Action Points/Chi on your turn, it goes into a vulnerable state on the enemy's turn, since it has no more AP/Chi left to do defensive actions- the actual game system will obviously have a bit more depth, but that is the gist.

so do you think there is enough interest in this subject in North America / Europe to sustain a game like this?

Oh you seekers of the new who run terrified from history into the clutches of an eternal life where no electric shaver can be built to last.

Asia hosts the theme for many games -- if you get the mechanics right, China will sell.

Are you presuming exactly three players? That is quite limiting, although better than exactly two, as there are so many games in that slot. Being able to play two with a "dummy" kingdom would greatly open opportunity for play though.

it'd be a miniatures-style game, recreating individual battles, so it could handle any number of players

although a campaign element would be a cool addition

I had a similar idea for a game involving Mongol invasions and defending armies on the Great Wall. Maybe if you develop far enough, a possible expansion?
