My wife loves Blue Max. However, she wants a tiny model plane to use, instead of the cardboard counters. Are there any biplane miniatures out there that would fit the hex scale of the Blue Max map, and does anyone know what the scale actually is? Thanks in advance.

Here are some 1/600th 'scale' kinds then:

http://brookhursthobbies.com/vaportrailsaircraft.htm

That equates to "1-inch equals 50 FEET" in proportion for this.
oh, and just like the "mohel" who didn't accept monetary recompense, then I too will "just take 'tips'!"
surprise

Also try NavWar (perhaps the largest selection of models):http://navwar.co.uk/nav/default.asp?mmid=48

In the US they can be bought at The Last Square: http://www.lastsquare.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=1_29_30_31

and I'm sure there are other retailers.

1/144. There are very nice unpainted 1/200 out there, too but I've forgotten who.
Take a look at the WoW ones. If the Blue Max hex grid is too small, then lash out on a play mat, I don't know the US market, but they come in various sizes here in blighty.

Check out entry #-6 on this LIST here:

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/19570/item/379149#item...

These are also 1/144th 'scale' while the completed ones are much more costlier. The guy who produces these lives around here where I am at, and you can check out others of his at:

http://www.tin-soldier.com/

Let him know that I sent YOU, if you do happen to obtain any.
cool

They did have some photos of some of these at one time, while I'd recommend that YOU write them and ask them kindly to get any! The best "advertising" is with actually seeing that along with something in 'scale' to assist any visualizations, so contact them post-haste!

Our group uses the 1/144 planes on a Battlemasters map to play Blue Max.
