I'm surprised there are no rules about negotiation/trade in the game, as it seems ripe for trading or promising favors and then back stabbing.

Do people just 'assume' you can negotiate? ( Hey I'll put a knight here if you put a knight there ). Does anyone have any house rules for allowing trading of soldiers/money?

I think this is one of those games where trading of actual resources probably shouldn't be allowed - would only lead to kingmaking I think.

As for trading promises, of course! But do you trust them to keep it? That's what makes the game!

Trading resources would ruin the game.

Negotiating? That is what you are hopefully doing all the time, it is the butter of the game.
