Just this got this game as a gift as I love heavier longer games.

Can anyone link me to the best way of learning this game? I knew ahead of time the rule books sucks as there is info all over the place. Is there a special walk through or guide etc.

Thanks

The rules include a separate walkthrough book that teaches you the game as you play the first scenario. Just go through that step by step as you play it and it'll guide you through the rules.

If you like learning hands on, the walkthrough book is great. Just take it step by step. Don't read ahead. It introduces game concepts as they are needed to not overwhelm you.

If you learn better by videos, ricky royal has great instructional videos on this one. Watch his "first recon" videos first, then try it yourself.

As always, any rules questions, just ask here. Super helpful community here.

I will second watching the whole playthrough from Ricky Royal first.

Second would be to play out the learning scenario as it slowly introduces different parts of the game and will give you time to read about them and learn what they do.

Other than that it will just take some playthroughs to get everything down

This is my favourite game, and I recommend taking out the components, opening a bottle of wine, and start on page one of the first rulebook.
I believe a major reason for the confusion regarding this game is that people rush it, reading the full rules and then starting with a full game.
Just do the teaching game, nice and slow, and you'll be fine.
Feel free to PM me with any questions, I playtested the two latest expansions and have a firm grip on the rules.
