I love the build quality of Aeon's End...except for the breaches. I was a bit disappointed to see how flimsy they were and not just aesthetically. Their thinness makes them slide around a lot on my table.

Is there a reasonable way to produce/buy thicker stock cards of the breaches?

I suppose I could find some really thick stock and glue them on, but does anyone have a better idea?

Thanks!

put each one in a card sleeve and trim the top off to your liking. the breach's are identical in width to the playing cards so they fit perfectly.

I did last night! I was hoping that would help but I do wish they had a better tactile feel too.

I might also put them in sleeves like Normiyagi recommended

Word from the publisher: we chose to intentionally make these thinner for a couple of reasons:

1.) with other cards prepped on them, they needed to not be so thick that the cards lay at an angle.

2.) you do not handle them like you do cards in your deck

We understand the comment, but just wanted to chime in from the back end

Glad you're enjoying the game!

That makes sense! I'm sure if you had printed them on thick laser cut stock, there'd be people who'd complain about the cards tilting

I am enjoying the game!

Speaking of which...any info on Depths release date?

I do understand the design decision to make the breach cards the way they are.

Would it be an option to maybe include breaches made from cardboard with rotating circle on top (kinda like the one in Battlestar Galactica) in an upcoming expansion. This way one would not have to fiddle around with the breach card, but could easily rotate the "breach circle" to indicate the new status.

I guess this solution would be too expensive as one would need 12 "breach circles" for too little gain? (asuming that all characters always start with an open breach you would need 12 movable ones at max)

Would a full four player game fit onto a 90x90 cm play mat?

The sleeving thing I did and it's great. The breaches stay put, are easy to manipulate, feel thicker, and it's cheap to boot.

Just played a game with this last night. Big improvement, and I would recommend it to anyone who had the same issue I did.

My clear Dragon sleeves worked fine and I just trimmed them with scissors.

Larger circles/squares (e.g. the Inner Circle mats from Tyrants of the Underdark) would have been preferred, but likely added greatly to the production cost. I would probably buy a small box expansion with four of those and a Nemesis or two.
