Your commander gets killed by a sniper within the first 6 turns of a game. Is it futile to continue?

Depends on the rest of your die rolls and how well your ASL handles the stress!

It gets tricky.

Futile? Not necessarily. Harder, for sure. But take the opportunity to play it out and see which of your squaddies rises to the occasion and by God gets the job done! You can always just hightail it for the exit if you need to. Remember, you're playing the long game with Ambush!, and people are gonna die. Look at it as another page in the story you're telling.

It's a long time, too long, since I have played Ambush but IIRC there is the scenario with the para drop. I am sure that one or more of your men can land on the church roof or in the river causing Incapacitation or a KIA result. I suspect the Ambush design team wouldn't expect you to give up, but carry on and see how you manage. I would definitely press on. You want some revenge on that SOB dontcha?

I think that is what your men are supposed to asking you...

Put on a brave face, the men need you to keep a level head if you are going to get them through this.

Well...that's a bunch of good advice. I will tell the men to shake it off and continue the mission. There are some Jerrys up the road who need to see what a GI is made of.
