I've just learned the game from players of the first version. We played with the "no ganging up" variation, but then I found that this is not in the rulebook of new edition.

Is this a good variant here? Or the new edition is better balanced against ganging? I don't expect a "play whatever you like, it's your game" answer, I don't know yet what I like!

Players are less exposed to aggression cards in the new version. This is mainly because you can discard any card for +1 defense. Consequently, you rarely get a situation where multiple players have the ability to attack another player.

The only reason I have seen multiple people attack the same target is if that target has left themselves very vulnerable.

Hope that helps!
