The wacky card game set in the old west meets yahtzee dice for a new gaming experience. This game is a hidden-role, social deduction team game that plays in about 15 minutes (really!). You are either the sheriff, the sherrif's deputy, an outlaw or the renegade. Each role, other than the sherrif which is flipped over right away, is kept hidden throughout the game. Each player also receives an ID of a character that give them specific special abilities unique to their character.

As each turn transpires, each person rolls six custom dice and uses the "yahtzee dice" mechanic (or King of Tokyo if you're more familiar with that) to determine which dice they will keep over the course of three rolls. The dice feature beer for health, dynamite which stops you from re-rolling that particular die and hurts you if you get three, gattling guns which hits everyone but you once you get three, pistols which either hit someone next to you or one person over, and arrows which are collected and are turned into wounds once they are all gone and the "Natives attack". Players take turns rolling, and attacking each other until 1) all of the outlaws and renegades are dead and the sheriff and his deputies win, 2) the sherrif and his deputies as well as the renegades are all dead meaning that the outlaws win, or 3) everyone is dead but one of the renegades meaning that the renegade has won (if there are two renegades the other must be killed for a renegade to win, they are not on a team).

There is a slightly politically incorrect reference to Native Americans in this game, which might be offensive to some. This game also has the potential to set up unnecessary inappropriate jokes thanks to the use of the word "BANG". Given these two facts, I wonder if this game could be played in all settings which is something to consider. The game does seem to stack things in the sheriff's favor which can either be irritating or consdered thematic, but all in all this game is a must play if you like dice games or hidden role games! I have not played the original Bang! But I hear this is a much more quality game. This game gets two thumbs up and a big recommendation from me!

Uh, but you do not have any issues with playing as an Outlaw?

In the interest of reviewing the game I thought it was worth mentioning. It really doesn't bother me, but it might bother someone else.

I haven't found it offensive, the game is fictional with Spaghetti Western movie theme. If you're addictive to porn, yeah its gonna effect the players. blush
