The 4th edition rules are quite vague regarding 3-player games. There is no mention about simple procedures in battles. For example, are the Allied players allowed to communicate when sharing the battlefield? How do activations work in the Allied side - do players alternate activating one unit each, one of them activate all units before the other, or no specific order? If the latter, then obviously communication must be allowed for that to happen.

It would be great to hear from your experiences. I guess an official answer would be a little bit of a stretch, but that would be even better!

We used no specific order on activations. Each commander commanded his own troops, and they could coordinate/discuss the order units were used (but that was it, no other discussion on plans/tactics)
