Other thoughts:
Worst team in the playoffs: Dolphins
They had an easy schedule. They haven't beaten a decent team since the Steelers in week 6.

Best team that missed the playoffs: Titans
They have a weird rock-paper-scissors thing going on. They beat some great teams this year, but they still can't beat the Colts.

Wait, what? You are picking the Raiders with a third string quarterback to travel to New England and best the 14-2 Patriots? I'm no Pats fan but that's just crazy talk!

And Detroit over Seattle. Detroit is a terrible match up for Seattle.

Right now Detroit doesn't even look like a terrible match-up for a high school team. To put them in the same conversation as New England vs. Oakland is nuts.

Not sure how it'll wind up, but it's certainly an interesting game. Both teams are red-hot, with the Pack doing it with their offense and the G-Men doing it with their D. I'll tell you one thing, Moose: this is not the matchup Green Bay was hoping for. As I'm sure you remember, in both of the Giants' last two Super Bowl seasons, they (led by the sniveling Manning himself) beat Packer teams that were considered to be superior. I know the whole state of Wisconsin is hoping for sweet revenge, but if New York beats them again, it could lead to a Cheesehead Complex!

Patriots are the most overrated team. When you look at the latter part of their schedule they beat up on teams like San Francisco, the Rams and the Jets twice. Miami is the only team of any quality they faced in the last two months. I think the best team in the AFC right now are the Chiefs. They beat teams like Atlanta and Oakland (with Carr). They are healthier and have a better defense.

NFC my pick are the Giants. Dallas is not playing well at the moment. They've lost 2 of their last 4. They barely beat the Vikings and Bucs. The Giants meanwhile have the best defense in the NFC right now. They beat Dallas just 3 weeks ago.

In the end the Chiefs beat the Giants in the Superbowl.

Browns win Super Bowl.

Worst Team: Tie between Texans and Raiders

Will underperform: Cowboys

Quit with the over reactions. Detroit is exactly the same team they have been all year. Good enough to play middle of the road and bad teams close enough to give themselves a chance to win all year, but not good enough to win versus good teams. They are a mediocre team with a relatively easy schedule (like the Phins, or the Texans - somebody has to win that division). Oakland having to rely on a rookie quarterback, whose only experience is getting mauled by a Denver defense with something to prove, has exactly as much chance as making it to the Superbowl as the Lions do with a wounded Matt Stafford (who has been the only offense for the Lions, other than Zach Zenner in the first half of games).

They've lost 1 of their last 3 - you can't count the game where they sit about as many of their starters as possible and are quarterbacked by Butt Fumble for all but 2 series.

I dunno, I sense tremendous self-destruction potential in the Seahawks... they (to me, at least) seem to be a little schizophrenic sometimes, and I think that's more of a toss-up game. I think there's potential, too, for Seattle to look past the Lions.

Honestly, from what few games I've seen the Lions in, I kind of like their chances against Seattle.

But, then, I'm a KC fan trying desperately to delude myself into believing we've got deep playoff run potential this year, so my opinions may be suspect!

I'm rooting for my Lions, and I believe they can beat the Seahawks if they play better than they have the last few weeks. My overreaction was based in the fact that Matt seemed to imply the Lions losing was as crazy as the Patriots losing to Oakland. If any team has perfected the art of losing it is my boys in Honolulu Blue.

But Ben, one of the writers in the Detroit Free Press gives the Lions a .01% chance of winning in Seattle, and he said it was only because he couldn't give them 0% chance. whistle

I give Detroit a better chance than Oakland, but the best way to beat the Seahawks is via a pass rush, which Detroit isn't really known for right now. They are currently tied for 30th in sacks and 28th is stopping 3rd downs. Honestly, you'll be hard pressed to find Detroit even being average in a defensive stat let alone above average which you would expect from a playoff team. Green Bay's defense is also fairly terrible stat wise and in some cases worse than Detoit's, but they smoked the Seahawks. Green Bay is 6th in sacks and had three that day, and Wilson threw 5 picks. In short, sure Detroit can win it because they have an offense that keeps them in the game and Seattle is one of the least bullet proof teams in the playoffs all things considered, but Detroit simply is a poor match up.

And sorry Oakland, you have no chance. I have zero clue how Cook ever was talked about getting a high first round grade. He couldn't throw for 60% completion in college.

Yeah, have to agree about Oakland. Without their starting quarterback, I think Chit Chat has a better chance of winning the superbowl than Oakland does.

Excellent Texan's defense may take them far. Don't think they loose to third string qb in first round.

For our Chiefs, not playing on the wild card weekend is a deep playoff run.
