hi guys, I have the japanese edition.
I was thinking to play the game hanabi-style, ie you can't look at your cards because they are facing out (and of course you can see all the others' cards)

will it work?

of course you have to cut a card of yours, and then you simply pass the cutter to the left

But, Hanabi works because players are only allowed to give each other limited information. How would you propose to do that in your game? Otherwise, players can just say what everybody has, and the majority (blue team) will want to tell the truth.

Oh, it is even worse: if you can see what all the other players have, you know what you have, because all cards are dealt out.

Not sure how you envision this working; can you explain game play in more detail?

you are right. so let's do this variant ONLY when 1 card is secretely out of play, so that you cannot be sure. Also, may it work if you also don't look at your own card, so you don't even know who you are?

Even if you can't know exactly what you have in your hand (by removing one or a few cards from play), how is a player supposed to interact with the other players?

If they aren't allowed to talk, each player just has to take a wild guess. If players are allowed to talk, and say everything, they can inform everybody (because the traitors are always in the minority). So where is the game? What are players trying to work out?

they are allowed to talk, but they don't know their identity! because it gets turned out like the rest of the card PLUS an identity card is missing

this way we should have the right amount of correct info AND some missing one to make it fun.

it's just an idea: a hidden role game where your id is only hidden to you! I can call it "one night psycho ward" and during the night you don't remember who you are, and your id is attached to the door of the room you are locked in!
