Entry Thread for Elections in Quadville
Designed for The 2017 9-card Nanogame PnP Design Contest!

Elections in Quadville
Age: 12+
# of Players: 1-4 (co-op and/or competitive)
Game Time: ?????

Components:
[9 cards] - double-sided
[1] - Rules (gonna be several pages- it's the government you know!)
[9] - d6 dice [2 each of red, green, yellow, blue. 1 white)
[9] - Wood cubes - [2 each of red, green, yellow, blue, 1 white]

Briefly, you will construct Quadville and then run an election to decide the Mayor of Quadville.

I'd like the game to be entered in:
Best Overall Game
Best Solitaire Game
Best 2-player Game
Best 3 or more player Game
Best Thematic Game (Sci Fi, Horror, Fantasy, Dungeon Crawl, etc) (Elections are theme, right?)
Best Written Rules (Is there a category for LARGEST rules?)
Most Innovative Mechanic Category

Re: Elections in Quadville: 2017 9-card contest- IDEA phase
Rules Discussion.

(Quote the above if you would please- it helps my tiny brain keep track of what's where...)

Just a quick update: The rules have changed so many times. I keep playing parts in my head, and realizing some of what I've come up with leads to dead ends. But I think I'm on track now- I hope to post rules (and maybe everything) this weekend.

{EDIT 1-26-17} Got through an issue with the dice and actions. I really want to max the parts out, and I think I'm on my way to doing that. Now I just have to go back to the rules and get it in there...

2-13-17:

Well, it seems this game is stuck...

Every issue I solve brings up another. So it's one small step forward, one back, or one to the side, or I trip...

I had been working on this as a "small" version of a much bigger election/campaign game. It seems I might not be able to get what I want down to the size to fit the contest...

But I'll keep trying.

Sorry folks- hitting too many roadblocks... One fix causes problems in other areas....

I'm mostly building this as a small part of a larger game- the limits of the contest are (correctly) causing issues for what I want to do...

And classes start up Tuesday- that's going to take time and focus away from this. But I'm not giving up- it's just going to have to sit for a while as I try to get a number of square pegs into round holes...

Not gonna happen.

I just can't get what I want done down to the small scale here.

I'm pulling the plug and pushing this down the hall...

I'll re-work this and am planning on entering it in Chris' full-blown contest this summer... Then I'll have the space/parts to do what I want...

Sorry folks...
