Hello, I just purchased my copy of War of Ring and I think its best that I paint the rim of the figures before my first game, which I hope to play this weekend. I should have my copy by Friday, if not Saturday.

The top three suggestions I've seen in the forums that seem to be the quickest or easiest are to either use an oil-based paint pen (can anyone recommend a specific brand for this), use whiteout and then use a sharpie or permanent marker to paint over the white out, or spray paint the entire figure (which I would rather not go through the hassle of doing that).

So that being said, I'm looking for the quickest and (preferably) cheapest method, but speed is the most important to me. What do you recommend and does anyone have anything else to suggest besides the three I listed? Thanks again for all the help!

Spray paint. You can skip the Sauron figs, as they are already their faction color (red). Spray just the banner on the Free Peoples leader units.

I used acrylic paint markers to color the bases. It worked well, is pretty quick, and no mess.

This is the brand I used but there are others:
