So I apologize if there's an answer already, but I've searched high and low and either there's no answer to a thread similar to mine...or there's a response saying "it's working now". :gulp:

Anyway, I click on the RSS button on anything (I specifically want my subscriptions, but it does this with anything) and I get a page with raw XML (screenshot included in the post). I try opening in RSS readers and it will not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated...what am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

I run the RSS through a validator I suspect the reason it don't work is that it is not valid RSS. I suspect hte change to https was made but I think there was a typo

The suspected line is

<url>//cf.geekdo-static.com/images/geeksm.gif</url>

which probably was meant as

<url>://cf.geekdo-static.com/images/geeksm.gif</url>

or even

<url>https://cf.geekdo-static.com/images/geeksm.gif </url>

The statement above is correct.

I just tried adding a feed to a random feed reader by pasting the URL into the "add new feed by URL" text box; that worked. The links are all HTTP and not HTTPS, but that shouldn't throw off too many feed readers - the HTTP links do redirect to the correct HTTPS location.

That XML looks entirely normal to me - slightly malformed, but nothing out the ordinary. It appears to me that your browser just doesn't know what to do with it.

Thanks Guido that worked like a charm. For those of you having the same issue (or maybe it's just me ) I simply copied the URL that it redirected me to into my RSS reader and viola. To clarify, "the URL" is the URL shown in the browser's address box, not the tagged url used as an example in this thread.

Thanks again!

I've found the built-in RSS buttons on BGG don't work any longer.

I used to use Firefox, which had a built-in RSS icon. I now use Chrome (and I downloaded an extension for the RSS icon). Instead of clicking on the icon on the BGG page, I just click the icon in my toolbar - from there, it auto-adds the feed to my reader (InoReader).
