I just bought the app and really love the game. But is it enough? Should I get the physical game?

Wow. Tough question.

I own both. I play 90% of my games on the app. If you play the app almost exclusively and then play a face to face match, at first the setup and play experience will be a bit unsatisfying because you begin to take for granted the immediate execution of the app. It takes far longer to play a face-to-face human encounter than it does to play on the app. FAR longer.

That said, my best game experiences have been against other human players when the last card of a seven-game world series determines the outcome. I get a chance to play this game live about once per month. If you could get humans to play against you with that frequency or more, I would buy the physical game. If not, I would stick to the app.

Does the app have league / season play or is it just one shots. I have never played the app but I like playing the user created custom league. Reminds me of my strat-o-matic days!

Video games or Board games?
Breathing humans or blowup dolls?
Facebook or having a real conversation?

These are the questions of this generation.

Agreed. App is great fun but the face-to-face version is where it's at. So yes to both--play the app, buy the game.

The app is great because almost all my game snob friends refuse to play a baseball themed game :<

But the truth is that the app is clunky and could use some enhancements to improve the play experience. It gets the job done (and is super fun), but playing against a human has always been significantly more entertaining.

I'm a fan of the app if I'm gonna play solo (although I think it cheats)

But I'd rather play a human if I'm able - and when that's the case, I'm all for the physical cards.

Does the app have any of the mini expasions? If not, I would get the physical game. The expasions awesome and add a lot of variety.

the app has some in-app expansion purchases, yes. They are optional buys.

Easy answer for me.

If you can afford it, deffo get both.

The app is great to learn the game, plays quickly and offers a decent challenge and set of options. It also helps you with its automated tips and recommendations.

The physical game is obviously tactile. Looks and feels great. Especially with Hyper Matte sleeves, hah! But it's so much nicer moving the pawns/baserunners around the diamond and shuffling the cards IMHO.

It's almost as good solo as it is against another player.

Oh and there are many variants, AI deck stack suggestions and challenges on BGG and elsewhere that mean the physical game offers loads.

So the TL;DR version: Get both. You know it makes sense.
