I think something like this would be great to include in the manual. One thing missing (from many games) is a Quick Start option. Nobody knows what's important, how to balance options, etc. when they are first starting out. Better would be a brief overview of the flow, then a "play this starter mission with this squad", not worrying about all of the skills and weapon options.

That's how I plan to teach the game - assign everyone starting soldiers.

Great ideas!

I'll talk to Dan about it as a possible inclusion into wave 2 WF WWII (Mid 2017 KS).

I'll refine the above a bit more - and include some team design notes and objective notes (maybe suitable Objective for LO).

There is thoughts about including a linked scenario campaign or three (I want it set on the Gilbert Islands - in particular Makin Atol - can't think why (page 38 credits whistle )

Have fun with them - I've kept them pretty basic - after a play (or half way through one) you will want to design your own sections.

I have had to go and make myself a cup of soothing tea to calm my internal anguish over - should Bailey have an extra grenade or canteen or.... but what if we run into... yet Scanlan should be able to deal with that - but what if...

Please do post the soldiers that you take on missions for objectives - it is always interesting to see how others play and why.

Great list! Really helps with the steep learning curve. Finally won a game on my 4th try!

Quick question regarding McDougall. I notice for some scenarios he has the Panic skill listed which comes attached to the card but in some scenarios that is not listed. Is that an oversight or was a resource point expended to remove that?

Typo's by me, my fault for not including it in the descriptions - when I have a bit of time I'll make sure that I haven't made a mistake in calculating RPs.

McDougall has Panic listed on his card and thus it always applies to him.

There is no way to rid McDougall of panic - it is one of the things that make him - him. whistle

Actually it was quite easy. Just Another Day and my mission objective was Bunker Clearing. The location I picked for recon was Cratered for the Hostiles (2) rating. McDougall played the location and for hostiles, I drew Ambushers who popped up in location 1. I spent the XP to avoid suppression. Using a house rule, Scanlan started the game with the bipod deployed and he proceeded to hose down the Ambushers. One burst later, one EKIA and two suppressed. Taylor scored a KIA and McDougall finished them off with the help of Steady Aim. Hostiles had no actions the first turn. On to the second turn.

Turn 2: Using Move Out McDougall moved into location 2 and Taylor followed. Scanlan stayed behind in location 1 as I activated the objective. For Hostiles, I got Ambushers again, and they appeared in location 2. That allowed me to play Fubar for an extra action on turn 3 and I spent one of the XP's from killing off the previous ambushers to avoid suppression. One grenade later, all three ambushers suppressed. Scanlan lit 'em up to no effect and used up an ammo clip. Took care of that with an upgunned Reload card and good thing too, enemy reinforcement draw brought Recruits onto the field in Location 2. Played Overwatch, spent the XP to upgun it and Scanlan suppressed both Recruits. Hostiles all suppressed, no attacks, removed one suppression marker from each enemy card.

Turn 3: McDougall moved into the objective using the extra action from Fubar. Discard and draw action looking for favorable cards but no such luck. McDougall crossed his fingers and lobbed the last grenade into the bunker. Cover roll was a 6, all 4 attacks rolls were 8 or higher! Must have hit fuel tanks or a grenade box because that bunker blew sky high! Mission complete, game over! Hostiles never even got off a shot. cool

Canteens and regular use of the discard and draw action really helped in getting useful cards like the Overwatch and Reload.
