Hi!

I'm Ben. I'm looking for feedback on my first board game project, Trash Kings. It's a tile laying game where players compete to hoard mounds of garbage; the player with the best garbage when the tiles run out wins! Carcassonne was a big influence. Maybe too big; that's one thing I'd love feedback on.

Rule book is here: http://www.kovach.me/pdfs/trash_kings_rulebook.pdf

And a PnP version of the game is available here: http://www.kovach.me/pdfs/game_components.pdf

Any feedback would be great! Enjoy!

It's obviously influenced by Carcassonne, but I think it's different enough.

I'd worry that it'd be too easy to run out of cubes. It looks like you can only recall a cube if it's on a monochrome mound, correct? Seems like it would be pretty easy to intentionally strand other players' cubes by swapping out parts of their monochrome mound with a different color section. Does that happen in practice?

I actually meant to add a fifth cube for each player! I've played a few times solo and with my wife, and just changed the recall rule to only allow cube recall from monochrome tiles (before, it was any tile) which does limit you. Regarding the strategy you mentioned, once a mound is monochrome, the tiles it touches can't be swapped (unless you personally claim the mound), so that problem is avoided. Definitely need a cube or two more per player, though.

Good point. I forgot that.
