How do I differentiate between the editions/printings prior to 3rd edition?

Bonus points for not having to unwrap cards.

Trying to ID exactly what version I have.

First edition: original lich artwork
Second edition: first printing, alternate artwork for the lich
Second edition: second printing, award icons added

So starting with version, here is my Lich:

If I read the above correctly, if this is 1st edition I'm done. If it's 2nd edition I'll need to figure out what is meant by 'award icons added.'

My comments referred to the Lich illustration on the back of the box. Looks like you have second edition, first printing. Unless the back of your box has the award icons, in which case it is second edition, second printing.
