In Iceland for a few days holiday - there are no forums for Iceland so posting here in the hope that someone might know if there are any gaming shops in Iceland/Reykjavik?

Thanks

Hello Stephen, there's a guild where some of the Icelanders hang out, but there's not much activity there since Facebook serves most of our needs for chat and organisation.

Julia has you covered on the two gaming stores, Spilavinir and Nexus. Spilavinir is more family oriented, and stocks more Icelandic translations and publications plus puzzles, while Nexus has more imports and hobby-styled games in addition to books and comics.

Spilavinir host open gaming nights every other thursday (feb 9th) from 20:00, and Nexus every wednesday from 19:00.

Thanks folks for replying.

I have managed to visit Nex and picked up a game or two.

Cannot believe the price though - they are insanely high! I'll never complain again about prices in the UK. Even with me being able to claim the 24% VAT/Sales Tax back it is still more expensive than the UK!

How does anyone in Iceland afford to game?

Regards

Believe it or not, the prices have gotten a lot better over the past year.
