What happens when one of the ships with no destination fills up and launches, and no one plays pilot?

Does it sit there "in space" until a later turn when someone with pilot gives it a destination?

Both or your answers are correct regarding the question description. But reading only the title it made me wonder what happens if that actually happens. And it can happen, if a ship with no destination is launched by the effect of the secret agent, what happens? Granted, it is not necesary to know since well, as there are no astronauts there you can just discard the card and move on. But it is interesting and weird to know what happens.
