I've read good things about a tutorial for the vassal module for C&CA (maybe it's even a tutorial module for C&CA on Vassal?),
but it only seems to be available on Yahoo.
I do not want to sign up with Yahoo.
Anybody have another way to get at this resource? Or perhaps another one that is good? I know how to play the game, and I can probably figure out how to use the module for 'realtime' games. I just need to know how to set up a PBEM game on Vassal.

and if you can possibly play online, I'd suggest that is a far better option. Scenarios take an hour online, and weeks by PBeM.

Thanks. Do you have a link to a good one? I found the ones off the
videos page of BGG for C&CA to be not very good.
Again, my goal is to learn how to use Vassal to PBEM.

Fair enough, but my goal is to play by email, and I'm looking for resources to help me do that. I don't mind taking weeks, and I don't typically have/don't want to spend that kind of chunk of time online.

Pay no attention to Minedog, he's always trying to tell people CCA is no good via VASSAL PBEM. I'm here to tell you he's wrong. I've played tons of games via PBEM and enjoyed it. It's a perfectly fine way to play if you don't have the time or schedule or interest to play live online. PBEM is not worse than live play, it's just different.
I know of no online resources, but if you'd like a partner to play against to show you the conventions of PBEM play, drop me a geekmail.

From the Vassal module library window, choose Help->User's Guide. Then look on page 13 of the pdf (page 9 is printed at the bottom) for instructions on how to PBEM.
You can also download the guide here.

Thanks for teaching me! I'm hoping to 'pay it forward' soon.

Sushidog is teaching me the particulars for playing CCA by email, which is not in the general vassal manual.
That said, this is still useful.
