More information below too- the first is the Armeemuseum updated Facebook page where they are posting daily content. The second is the BGG Sweden discussion link. I designed the promo game they will be handing out and they just posted it on their Facebook page. Looking forward to the exhibit.

Looks great. Looking forward to see how it compares to the old Peter the Great.

Thanks. It should be a different experience. I have all of Peter Englund's games. The counter mix is smaller as this was geared to be a promotional game with certain physical limits and intended to garner interest in gaming. I needed a mechanic that worked without charts and could be played in 30 minutes or so. Obviously, not a detailed tactical study given the constraints and aim, but while the rules are simple, game play is not simplistic. There are some good historical theme rules and constraints and the decisions become more important especially to the Swedes with the smaller army- at least, that is what the playtesting has shown. I have some variant counters and rules I will post if there is interest after the promotion gets going.

This was the first in what may be a series of "compact battle" games that can be played within 30 minutes with rules that can be learned fairly quickly. Cafe type games. I called it an introductory game but my playtesters in the UK say it is "meaty," meaning more complicated than what they expected- in a good way.

I visited the exhibition yesterday. I found it quite good and think they found a nice balance between putting the concept of a war games in a broad historical and social context as well as actually presenting many of the classic games we war gamers know and love (or hate). I recommend anyone in Stockholm to visit the exhibition.

They even dared to make as statement on one of the most difficult and controversial questions discussed in our community! See below.

One of the best answers I've read!
