I'm curious about this game. I'm making my own fancy wooden set. Instead of the plain looking checkers I've lathed out slightly fancier pieces and hand painted and varnished them. The board I made 30cmx30cm with an ebony wood varnish and the main board is yellow and white. I'll put up some pictures after I finish more of it.
Anyhow.. I really hope the game is interesting. Looks like Alquerque with a more complex board and more pieces. From what I have found it is said to be more complex and interesting than checkers and less prone to draws. Never really liked checkers, but recently I have been exploring the Alquerque family of games and some of the Checkers family games. I really enjoy Turk Damasi.
