Hello

I know its very late in the game but I am looking at this liking the look of it. However I have also been looking buying the game The Cave not sure if there is a huge difference.

I know one is cooperative and one is competitive but do you think these would complement one another in my collection or do you think it may be best just to choose one?

I believe the main difference is that The Cave, like K2, is based on spelunking simulation. You’re basically facing the cardboard version of realistic cave exploration.

Sub Terra, also thematically and aesthetically about exploring underground, is more a cardboard simulation of the movie Aliens.

Someone who owns The Cave mentioned he’d be interested in Sub Terra if only to loot it for the tiles to add to The Cave. As a real spelunker, he wasn’t interested in the monster encounter parts of Sub Terra.

I think they’re two different games and I’ve considered buying The Cave separately.

I would say the game is more akin to the movie "The Descent" or "The Cave"

Why not try the PnP version of Sub Terra , then you could decide which game is the best for you

I would but short on time.

Hence my sudden rush unfortunately.

I have a preference for cooperative games, which is why I'm getting this one. The struggle of getting everyone out appeals to me.

Playing on tabletopia right now, seems good.

Do we know what prices the expansions will be going for at retail?

During the AMA ITB said the inspiration came from the movie "Descent"

That sounds right. However, the expansions — “set after the events of Sub Terra” — made me think of Aliens. The Agent in Investigation sounds like Burke, and the Mercenary of Extraction sounds like the Marines. Of course the Exterminator in Annihilation would be Ripley.
