I see complaints from time to time, the game leaves no room for
decisions. I don't think that's the case. But for those :
Discard only the cards you played in your turn. Example. Buy a
card for 4 recruit points. After that you can
decide, do i play those two strikes in hand to scan or hold it and
hope to draw more the next turn. More, also tactical, decisions
this way. But you also cycle slower through the deck.

Trouble with that is that you will be cheating chestbuster rules a bit, allowing you to play very few cards and thus almost never revealing the chestbuster.
I am thinking in a more complex rule; recently I tried this: all players can keep three cards in their hand. When a player gets injured, only two. When it gains three strikes, only one. When it gains six, no card.
Don't know if it is a good idea or not yet, I need to try it more, but that game was funny.

Interessting Valentine. The most important
rule change we do, is playing the strike before
the action phase. So every alien in the combat
zone strikes first ! Wow, the make a tense and hard game.
but fun...fun...fun
