I have an idea.

I added a black disc and a blue disc to draw it random.

Both of them represent not permanent damage but when you draw a black disc you have to make a pit stop inmediately and when you draw a blue disc your car has a -1 MP.

We allow damages to be remove during a pitstop.
But to remove a red damage chit, you have to move the car one space further back.
To remove a brown damage chit, you have to move the car two spaces further back.
This is not a choice, you have to remove damages during a pitstop.

This makes playing any card that causes damage very risky, which can really limit your available hand. I would not mind that variant in the case of collisions during challenges or off track excursions. If anything, I think the game underestimates the damage caused by blown passing attempt, many a nose is damaged and wheels cut down.
