Dashi just whispered in my ear (on the astral plane),
"This makes you look soooooooooooooooo small".

I'm thinking Dashi on the astral plane has improved!
He say, "Thank you very much for that touching post, Moshe. Take good care of yourselves everyone else. I kind of miss all you liberal idiots."

I hope Monin isn't capable of searching the astral plane or you're on your way out.

Ok which BBC production is this from. Dont think its from The Rev. Wish I could see the bottom part of the sign that starts "this sort of thing"

It's the top you need to see you daft bugger*!

daft bugger - litertally "mentally deficient animal fucker or sodomite", however contextually transformed to mean "performer of mildly humerous over-sight".
Clearly I am presuming a lot.

I'll just have to rely on the accuracy of his tea-leaves. And his desire to hear more of Dashi's astral plane open-hearted appreciations.

I took it as a good sign that astral Dashi disapproved. Like the quiet sections in Beethoven - adds to the thrill.

So now I can ignore him on the astral plane as well as the virtual one. whistle

Mocking?
Do you find my presentation of astral Dashi mocking of the real Dashi?
The "soooooo" was from Tiny Trump. And seems a understandable view point. That resonated with my concerns about there being too much laughter and not enough grieving over Trump. Transfering it here is a paean to the non-negative contributions of Dashi.

And his thanks to Moshe etc? How is that mocking? I think if astral Dashi can take risks that were beyond the RSP Dashi and still get to call liberals idiots then astral Dashi is doing alright by real Dashi.

Yes, I do. Let's start with:

Quote:
I'm thinking Dashi on the astral plane has improved!

Stating that a fictionalized version of someone is improved over the real version is clearly mocking.

I agree with his views, but overall think it's a bad look.

Jokes about fried chicken and watermelon are an outgrowth not an example of systemic racism, so the argument that it's perfectly fine to make fun of white people's love for avocado because they're not subject to institutional racism kind of falls apart there. We can enjoy all food irrespective of "race".

Avocados are a fad among wealthy liberals, who already "pay attention" to racism.

It pretty much encapsulates that these protests weren't about forwarding any real issues. It was social media outrage taken to the streets and the most hilariously ironic posts get "liked" and shared. I'm all for making protests fun, but "paying attention to racism" doesn't solve anything.

Stating that a fictionalized version of someone is improved over the real version is clearly mocking.

There may be cultural differences at play here.
My understanding is that by by posting a playful fantasy about Dashi I am signalling that in my view Dashi is a well-adjusted healthy adult with a stable sense-of-self and that he is worth remembering.

However I do understand that you view the situation differently. And will consider that Dashi may well have more of your cultural frame than mine.

I do think that the content of posts about bannees needs to be gauged. And it carries risks. However I think the benefits can outweigh the risks.

Can't find a picture, but I remember one from a British protest a few years back:

"I was looking for a job
and then I got a job
and Heaven knows
I'm miserable now"

Best placard about job precarity I've seen
