I just wanted to confirm we played this right -

The Player in question has:
* 15 capacity
* 17 stars
* a staff member that reads "choose an open ride, gain 2 coins per star in its star total" on a ride with 9 of the 17 stars
* Skullcliff Stronghold, "gain 4 coins for each Pirate theme open in all parks"
* 2 open Pirate themes

We reasoned that the player would get
* 18 coins for the ride with 9 stars and the staff member
* 6 coins from the remaining unused 6 stars of capacity not covered above
* 8 additional coins from the Skullcliff Stronghold's power

Is this correct?

I believe you get the full 15 coins for full capacity (15) PLUS the 18 for your staff member PLUS 8 from 2 open pirate themes. Total = 41 whopping coins!! Staff memebers are awesome and the showcase attractions can be game changers..

You should get the following

15 coins (For 15 of the 17 stars you have because of your 15 guest capacity)
+18 coins (For your Snack Seller gaining you 2 coins for each of the 9 stars on your one Attraction)
+8 coins (For your Skullcliff Stronghold)
---
41 coins total

Cole and Deekerston had it right at 41.

Stars vs capacity represents guests who want to visit the park vs its capacity to hold them, and is taken care of first and separately to any other income:

* 15 capacity, with 17 stars = 15 guests in the park. 1 coin per guest = 15 coins.

Guest step abilities are next, marked with a ticket icon on the rules box:

* The Snack Seller is selling delicious junk food to guests waiting in line for the large 9-star ride, and scores 2 coins for each of the 9 stars in its star total = 18

* The Skullcliff Stronghold scores 4 coins from questionable maritime activities for each of 2 open Pirate themes = 8

Total 41 coins, a very nice income. If you haven't declared World Peace, you can probably expect that ride to need time-consuming closure by the city safety inspectors quite a lot

I'm thinking you could more likely expect that Snack Seller to get hit with a nice Frivolous Lawsuit. "Your Honor my client would never sell delicious cotton candy under the intent of hurting someone..." *2 hour later as the prosecution's argument has fallen apart he offers the defense a plea deal of a nice Caribbean Vacation and they call it a day*

I love the way you explain things in a thematic way!
I always try to do that to when teaching a new game to my friends!
Makes it a lot easier to understand!
