I had been playing a car as a barrier and this question came up.
"Is a Car a Barrier??"
If so, that means you can defend a Car??
My feeling is that just can't be correct. The idea of defending a barrier IMO, is that you are using the barrier to aid in your attempt at beating back a zombie. With the barriers provided this makes sense. Trying to apply that thinking to a Car just doesn't seem to work.

Cars are no more barriers than they are forests or rivers or buildings, ie. they are a defined scenery piece. Scenery pieces have keywords attached to them and can be flexible depending on what you and your opponent agree.

More to the point: Barriers typically have the keyword "defensible" which means you can defend them. Typically cars do not (at least in all the scenarios and situations in the core set). So cars are not barriers but the real question is are they defensible. Probably not most of the time (like in the core set) but if you make the car "elevated" (meaning survivors can climb it and stay on top of it), it can make it defensible as enemies can still attack you while on that elevated position.
