I find it hard sometimes to hear the sound effects with everything going on, especially when there are groups of people in the same area making noise. Is there an app or website that makes this easier? Maybe one that has the soundtrack playing and alerts on a phone or YouTube video or website that you need to return to the entrance? I hope so!

We had the same feelings / experience.

Scan through youtube... there are ones like this one ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Uk5MmLv6qg ) that make it obvious onscreen when it's time to get back. Wouldn't play without youtube support now...

In areas where it is too noisy or inappropriate for sound tracks but ok for dice rolling (folks asleep upstairs) I'd say the visual aid of the hourglass works pretty well. When using visual aids it does mean you have to look rather than listen which alters the feel of the game. It is quite thematic to imagine the players trapped in the central room with an hourglass that keeps the doors open as long as the sands flow.

Is there only one of these on YouTube? Couldn't find the other soundtracks.

Try Soundtrack 3 on the Escape soundtrack downloads page. It's completely silent except for when each gong sounds until the door slams. Great for noisy environments, because you can turn it up pretty loud, and the gong and door don't blend into the rest of the soundtrack.
