Coming from an old ASL player, I keep looking at the obstacles in the hex that could block LOS. Is this not so in WED? If I read the rules literally, if the hex center is white, and my LOS crosses the hex, no matter if there are a clump of trees in the hex, the LOS is still clear? Conversely, if the hex center is green, and my LOS crosses the part of the hex where is doesn't intercept any tree artwork, the LOS is still blocked?

Correct. It is whole hex terrain. Generally, only the color center dot matters. The addition being raised roads where their outline matters too in many cases.

I had the opposite problem moving from GTS to Lock n Load. "You mean the drawing of the bush matters?!"

Cheers
