Greetings folks, todays featured card is The Manticore. This card is one of my favorites because it reflects Aggression in its purest form; power achieved through pain and self sacrifice.

The Manticore has a cost of one Lesser, two Greater and three Exalted Aspects. As it's cost is focused on Exalted Aspects, it is extremely difficult to use Sacrifice against this card. It also has the Epic subtype in its profile, which means you can only run one of it in your deck. The Epic subtype also makes it difficult to remove from Slay and Destroy schemes, which tend to not be able to target Epic creatures. To top it off this card has an impressive array of abilities as well as a strong body.

The Manticore has eight Fight and five Life so very few creatures will be able to brawl with this beast. In addition, it has Fleet so if your opponent does not have an Entrapment or Fleet creature you will be getting free damage every turn. What really makes it nasty though is every time a player exhausts an Aspect that player will take one Damage. This can completely lockdown your enemies as they may not wish to suffer damage from playing cards. If they decide to exhaust Aspects to kill The Manticore, it's Deathbound once again punishes players with exhausted Aspects as they suffer damage from each exhausted Aspect they control. You might also suffer from these effects, but if you like free Savagery triggers then this card will thrill you.

Finally if you trade it to an opponent  face down as an Aspect they will potentially suffer massive damage if it is revealed. If their Aspects are exhausted, they will suffer an catastrophic amount of damage from The Manticore's Heresy effect.

Be careful though, the Manticore hurts ALL players with it's abilities so don't put yourself in a position where it's abilities cause you to lose. Power comes at a price in Aggression and no card reflects that philosophy more than The Manticore.
