What is the play length of the campaign? In hours? Games?

I'm curious to know if it can be completed in a long day, a long weekend, or if it will require an investment of iterative sessions.

I suspect the play length wont be much longer than a regular game of Netrunner? The FFG news article about the launch kit mentions:

Quote:
It should be noted that attendees will need to play multiple games in order to complete the objectives on the Directive card.

Which implies that each game will not be super long. At least, they expect you to be able to play a few games in a few hours.

But how long is the campaign? How many games?

Now you know as much as anyone. They have not said exactly how many games the campaign consists of. The closest we know of is that the Release Event gives you four games to achieve your objectives, but it's not known if that's baked in or if it's a guideline for the event.

Oh, I bet there are at least 2 people who know more than that.

I will sit tight and wait for the empirical evidence once the game starts arriving at the doorstep of those teenagers that have infinite free time.

I'm sure there are but when someone asks on two separate (the two least-trafficked) Netrunner forums, I assume you're asking if it's known in the community. Anyone who DOES know isn't saying.

Could you list a couple of netrunner forums?
I only know stimhack and reddit?

In terms of traffic, Reddit and Stimhack are the busiest. Netrunner Dorks on Facebook is very active. Tompy posted his question here and on the FFG forums, which are both virtual ghost towns. The only forum less active for Netrunner than FFG is probably CardgameDB.

Yeah I started reading your comments elsewhere, you seem to know quite a thing or two about A:NR.

Thanks for the comments and advice! thumbsup

As one of the few people who can answer this definitively but am contractually obligated not to reveal any specifics...If you and your partner are imbalanced skill level wise or both troopers you might be able to finish in a marathon of sessions in a day. I'd say a weekend or a long weekend is probably going to be more likely and allow for the thoughtful changing of decks between games and reading through the narrative bits to savor the revealed story.

An interview with you about the topic.

Minimum 6 games, usually 11, maximum 15 games.

That interview was recorded quite some time ago, and was under embargo until yesterday. Since Damon's not with the company anymore, he'd have no way of knowing they were about to green light the release, and contractual obligations would still be in effect.

Played it in one day. It took about 10 - 11 hours. We started before Noon and finished a little bit before 11pm. It took us eight games.

Skorpios vs. Steve Cambridge

The Corp won games 1,2,5,7,8

The Runner won games 3,4,6

I played Runner and the learning curve of deck building took two games to get a grasp on what cards to add/remove. (I got HAMMERED those early games.) I, also, had to learn to face check ICE and be aggressive. Once I made those minor tweaks the games I did win were much easier. I should have won game 7, but I was tired and made a stupid error on my last turn. (My friend let me "take back" my mistake and I "won", but I don't like doing it that way so I accepted the loss.)

Going through it with a friend now, and after 2 sessions, maybe 6 hours total, we are about 2/3 done. Doing it over 3 sessions, or at least 2, seems right to me. You will most likely want to take some time making deck changes.

One day? Impressive. I'm recommending three days personally, evaluating how you are playing, what choices you are making for your PADs, and what is in your deck and why every two games, I think, is essential to balanced play. Giving some time to ponder and plot and treating it like the mini meta game it creates greatly enhance the experience.

Did you mean to offer a number here? I'd be keen to know specifics, if you have them to suggest. My daughter and I are about to play it.

Sorry, my phone turned three days to the days.

Three is the minimum I'd suggest,
