Not a big fan of house rules, i like to play the standard game but just playing around with variable weather too and from target, any thoughts would it badly affect the game

We few,we happy few,we band of brothers; For he today that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother: be he ne’er so vile; And gentlemen in England now-abed Shall think themself accurs’d they were no here That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.

Amos,
I think that is a variant that can be used easily and is/was used in the forum campaign as a standard rule. You basically roll for variable weather for each in/out segment to determine fighter cover effectiveness. There is also rules for cover further out depending on the timeframe of the war you are playing.
